My name is Martin Bean, and I am a freelance web developer based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I have four years commercial experience, and specialise in front-end and server-side development (specifically with the LAMP stack).

I enjoy crafting bespoke content management systems, e-commerce platforms and other web-based applications, and a bit of a huge fan of writing and consuming good, RESTful web services and APIs.

While I'm currently pulling together my web development portfolio, here are some of the things that I have done:

• Made the Twitter Bootstrap Generator, which went straight to the top of Hacker News and was picked up by Smashing Magazine
• Developed PHP libraries for the Dribbble API and the Forrst API—you can find them both on my GitHub profile
• One-man development team of the Woohoo Bingo website, a free bingo/social networking hybrid website that won the eGaming Award for Best Social Networking Website of 2010
• Had work featured in (the unfortunately now-discontinued) Practical Web Design magazine (sister magazine to .net)
